Job Summary:** **The Repair & Material Planning Specialist plays a critical dual role within our aviation MRO operations. This individual is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of Repair Orders (ROs) for both customer-owned and company-owned materials while also supporting material planning and procurement efforts to ensure optimal production flow. As MRO operations grow in complexity and volume, this position demands a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of FAA 145 repair processes, strong vendor management skills, and proven expertise in inventory control and ERP systems. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independently driving results across repair logistics and material planning functions.
Essential Job Duties:
Repair Order (RO) Management:
+ Manage end-to-end execution of Repair Orders for aircraft components, tooling, and repairable materials.
+ Review, issue, track, and close ROs in AMOS (or equivalent ERP).
+ Evaluate and select FAA-certified repair vendors based on cost, turnaround time, and quality.
+ Review and approve vendor quotes, ensuring alignment with FAA 145 regulations and company policies.
+ Monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement in delivery, communication, and cost control.
+ Maintain detailed records of repair history and compliance documentation.
+ Act as liaison between internal teams and external repair stations to ensure smooth coordination.
Material Planning & Inventory Management:
+ Plan and manage inventory levels to meet production demands and maintenance schedules.
+ Forecast material requirements based on production plans, sales orders, and historical trends.
+ Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables.
+ Run inventory reports, perform audits, and manage stock of hazmat, tooling, and rotables.
+ Adjust material plans to reflect changes in inventory levels, lead times, or production delays.
+ Support contract negotiations and vendor communications related to material sourcing and supply.
Secondary Duties:
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum:
+ 3–5 years of experience in an FAA 145 repair station or aviation MRO environment.
+ Strong understanding of FAA repair logistics, inventory control, and vendor evaluation.
+ Proficiency with ERP systems such as AMOS, SAP, or equivalent.
+ Ability to manage high volumes of repair and material transactions independently.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to interpret technical repair documents, quotes, and compliance records.
+ Competency with basic material handling tools and procedures.

Physical Requirements:
+ Lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
+ Stand, sit, climb, kneel, or crawl as needed during shifts.
+ Work in hot or cold environments.
+ Clear hearing and verbal communication required.
