PACU RN – Recovery with Heart, Teamwork, and Purpose

We’re looking for a **Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN** who brings both clinical expertise and a calming presence to patients emerging from surgery. As a PACU nurse, you’ll be the first face patients see after surgery—monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and reassuring loved ones—all while collaborating with a tight-knit surgical team. It’s an essential role with meaningful impact every shift.

What You'll Do:

+ Assess physical, emotional, and educational needs as patients transition from anesthesia to recovery

+ Develop and adapt individualized care plans using strong clinical judgment

+ Monitor post-op conditions, respond quickly to changes, and ensure safe discharges

+ Educate and support patients and families with clarity and compassion

+ Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to coordinate care

+ Stay flexible to support department needs and adapt to evolving healthcare technologies

+ Participate in meetings, trainings, and continuous learning opportunities to grow in your role

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa required

+ Previous experience in acute care preferred.

+ Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
