Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the direct supervision of licensed therapists (PT, PTA, OT, SLP) performs nonprofessional supportive therapy functions, including departmental clerical duties, maintaining inventory, assisting with patient care duties and other assigned duties. Is proficient in setting up therapy treatment for acute care, and inpatient rehab populations as directed by therapist in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
+ Follows patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
+ Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe, clean and therapeutic environment adhering to Safety and Infection Control programs
+ Assures quality care through compliance with guidelines of the department, professional associations, hospital and external regulatory agencies.
+ Demonstrates clinical skills of the Rehabilitation Technician necessary to effectively assist with patient’s treatments.
+ Demonstrates an understanding and is sensitive to the diverse needs of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, given its unique stages of development and communication.
+ Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs of the bariatric patient.

+ Provides support and assistance as needed in related activities under the supervision of the therapists

+ Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste of time and/or supplies, and promoting cost effectiveness while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”
What qualifications you will need:
+ Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required.
+ High School Graduate / GED required
+ 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Medical City Fort Worth is a 350+ bed full-service Magnet Designated hospital. It is located in the heart of the medical district. Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90 mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services.
