As a Research Operations Lead, you will help define how research is shared, scaled, and activated across the Devices & Services Design Group (DDG). You willll join our Design Quality team within Design Strategy, Systems, and Operations, a team focused on raising the bar for quality by building the systems, standards, and practices that enable consistently excellent design. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Design Quality, you will support the UX Research (UXR) team, which empowers Amazon’s Devices and Alexa businesses through high-quality, mixed-method insights.
Your focus will be on building the infrastructure that makes research more discoverable, consistent, and reusable. This includes owning the strategy and operations for our research repository, knowledge library, communications channels, and standardized reporting frameworks. You will lead efforts to streamline how research is documented and shared, helping teams move faster with clarity, confidence, and connection to customer insights.
This role requires expertise in content systems and knowledge management, as well as a strong program management and driving operational excellence. You will design structure in ambiguity, build for scale, and align stakeholders around shared practices that elevate the visibility and impact of research across DDG.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage and maintain DDG’s Research Knowledge Management System, ensuring the research repository and insight library meet evolving team needs
- Support the evolution and continuous improvement of the research repository and insights library in partnership with team leads
- Implement governance models, taxonomy, and documentation standards in alignment with existing design and research guidelines
- Partner with researchers and research ops peers to curate and maintain reusable insights that support active project work
- Support team adoption of repository tools and workflows through training, documentation, and hands-on guidance
- Coordinate with research and design teams to integrate knowledge-sharing into existing workflows and mechanisms
- Lead change initiatives, driving engagement, and effectively managing challenges to drive successful organizational transformation.
- Proactively identify risks, manage escalations, and make informed trade-offs to support scalable, effective operations.
- Create documentation and reporting to communicate progress, impact, and areas of opportunity to stakeholders.
About the team
The Amazon Devices and Services Design Group (DDG) is a multidisciplinary design team that is responsible for the UX of Echo Family Devices, Alexa Mobile, Fire TV, Fire Tablets and more. DDG’s mission is to bring to life delightful, easy-to-use, and high value experiences for our customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years in Research Operations, Design Operations, Knowledge Management, or related roles
- Proven experience building or scaling research repositories, libraries, or communications programs
- Demonstrated success driving cross-functional programs, aligning stakeholders, and managing change at scale
- Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to align multiple stakeholders and drive adoption across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with UX research methods and practices
- Background in content strategy, research communications, or research enablement
- Expertise in information architecture, taxonomy, or metadata systems to improve discoverability and knowledge reuse
- Experience operationalizing tools like Dovetail, Airtable, EnjoyHQ, Confluence, or equivalent knowledge platforms
- Passion for creating systems that make research actionable, accessible, and impactful at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
