Alexa News keeps customers informed about the world around them by seamlessly integrating the news they want most into their everyday lives. We build news experiences across multiple devices, including the Echo Family and Fire TV. These experiences touch every aspect of news, from lean-back (“Alexa, what’s the news?”) to specific questions (“Alexa, what’s the latest with the election?”). Our teams work in a fast-paced environment with people who are passionate about our customers, experiences, and systems. The Sr. TPM of Alexa News owns the Fire TV Channels (FTVC) program for Alexa's flagship FAST experience on Echo devices. You'll work with talented product and engineering teams in the latest technologies, including generative AI, as you execute your roadmap and continue to build upon one of our most successful products.
Quality will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the program. As such, the Sr. TPM of Alexa News will be responsible for ensuring that all of our experiences remain performant (e.g. minimal latency) and maintain our high quality bar.
Key job responsibilities
- Operate a program with science, engineering, product and design developing towards a customer bar that you will help to define and own
- Establish the right mechanisms to operate and inspect at scale
- Identify opportunities for simplification; invent methods to drive efficiencies in development.
- Interface with engineering leaders to help stitch together technologies into meaningful offerings for customers.
- Drive business and system-level reviews, align development teams toward coherent technology strategies and effective engineering processes
- Work with all levels of leadership to build consensus, and represent complex decisions, trade-offs, and potential solutions, verbally and in writing
- Set organization priorities, system owners, business direction
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
