JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Execute and support the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that controls multiple generators which parallel to one or more utility sources

* Provide direction to designers to create wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling switchgear controls

* Interact with internal and external customers, accomplishing project milestones

* Create bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP system

* Create PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear

* Execute multiple projects simultaneously

* Design, test, and commission control systems. i.e. systems with different PLC controllers in the same system, experience interfacing, designing controls with different manufacturers

* Develop control software utilizing various PLC platforms.

* Interpret customer specifications and drawings, and apply them to design platform while considering industry regulations and requirements

* Customize PLC software and hardware templates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering preferred

* 5-7 years experience required. OR

* 2 year degree with 7+ years of experience OR

* Masters with same experience

* Ability to create PLC programs using one of the IEC 61131 PLC Programming languages i.e. Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text or any other PLC programming language

* Expert knowledge on at least one of the following PLC platforms. Schneider Momentum, M340, M580, AB Control, Compact Logix, Woodward MSLC, DSLC, Easy Gen, and LS5 Architecture

* Understand the design philosophy, operation, and control of complex PLC based systems

* Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. * Expert ability to work independently and manage one"s time.

* Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Understand in detail the applicable NEC, UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI requirements and their applications in switchgear controls

* Understand protective relays, their functions associated with Generator, and Utility protection applications

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Excellent business and commercial skills

* Strong interpersonal skills
