IT Software Developer/Analyst
Position Description: This is a full-time, on-site,limited-service benefitted appointment (funding available through December 2026) with the potential to become permanent . This is an ideal opportunity for a recent Computer Science graduate or a professional returning to the workforce, looking to gain hands-on experience in state government technology systems.
The candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of custom software systems, including Java/J2EE/Oracle desktop application and supporting web applications using modern frameworks. Collaborate with the team to design solutions that integrate with legacy and current systems.
Responsibilities :
• Design, develop, test and document application code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
• Refactor legacy code to meet modern standard
• Collaborate with the team on software architecture and planning
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in Object-Oriented programming with Java • Proficiency with Jakarta EE 10, Spring, and Spring Boot frameworks • Knowledge of SOLID principles, MVVM pattern, and Domain-Driven Design • Experience with Test-Driven Development • Basic web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript • Version control experience using GitLab
Desirable Experience • Web development with WordPress, PHP, and advanced JavaScript • C++ development, particularly with Win32 API • Linux System Administration and familiarity with WildFly/JBoss and Apache Tomcat • Experience with Oracle Database 19c and technologies like XML Schema, DTD, XPath, and XSLT.
