TheResearch Analyst, Principalposition will support the data and analytics needs for three divisions, Division of Youth Safety & Permanency (YSP), Division of Family & Community Partnerships (FCP), and Division of Early Learning & Development (ELD). The primary duties for this position will be supporting YSP with Child Welfare data needs. This position is located in downtownBoise.
This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
+ Analyzes data, interprets trends, and results of the findings, and develops conclusions in coordination with staff
+ Develops interactive data visualization and presentation tools as a resource for all levels of staff
+ Responds to ad hoc data requests and provides responses in an accurate, concise, and timely way
+ Compiles and disseminates findings in formats appropriate to various users and makes oral presentations of findings
+ Identifies erroneous or questionable data and contacts or directs staff to contact providers to verify and correct
+ Reviews and updates data ensuring output is consistent with study
+ May recommend or perform follow up studies of problem areas
+ Confers with information technology staff and approves implementation
+ Works with business areas to oversee and provide data for data driven decision making for the organization
+ Assists business with defining data needs and data collection
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. + Experience that demonstrates considerable knowledge of modeling and trend analysis and simulation techniques. Typically gained by completion of at least two semesters of college level statistics in modeling, trend analysis and simulation techniques, AND at least two years of relevant practical experience and training in those areas OR at least three years of relevant practical experience and training in those areas OR Experience or a combination of coursework and experience that represents the knowledge level above.
+ Experience planning, developing, and implementing complex research and statistical projects and presenting the results. Typically gained by at least one year of work experience planning, developing, and implementing complex research and statistical projects, and presenting the results. Experience should include independently identifying or defining the scope of the project; analyzing the problem requiring research and statistical analysis; developing the research project; and implementing and presenting the research results.
+ Experience using and interpreting output of a statistical analysis software package. Typically gained by at least one year of experience using and interpreting statistical output from a statistical analysis software package (e.g. SAS, SPSS, STATA, Number Cruncher, Excel, Minitab, etc.).
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
+ Good knowledge of Child Welfare.Typically gained by at least one year of demonstrated work experience.
+ Experience creating queries in SQL.Typically gained by at least one year of demonstrated work experience.
+ Experience creating visualizations in Tableau.Typically gained by at least one year of demonstrated work experience.
+ Experience accessing data from Big Data.Typically gained by at least one year of demonstrated work experience.
