Summary/Objective

The Window/Glass Technician diagnoses and performs glass repairs on vehicles with efficiency, accuracy, and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer/factory standards.

Essential Functions

+ Accurately performs the necessary steps to repair and replace auto glass components to maintain vehicle safety standards

+ Provides excellent customer service

+ Ensures customer vehicles are kept clean during the repair process

+ Inspects damage, troubleshoots, and tests vehicle to determine required or recommended repairs

+ Accurately diagnose malfunctions or damage and perform the necessary repairs for them

+ Select appropriate tools, safety equipment, and parts according to job requirements

+ Install replacement glass in vehicles

+ Obtain windshields or windows for specific automobile makes and models from stock and examine them for defects prior to installation

+ Reinstall all vehicle parts that may have been removed prior to glass replacement or repair

+ Maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized

+ Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with operating procedures

+ Safely and professionally operate a company fleet vehicle to and from customer locations throughout the workday

+ Fulfills all physical requirements of the job

+ Exhibits self-motivation with organizational and time management abilities

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

+ Able to work and collaborate effectively with a team of peers as well as leadership

+ Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technology changes

+ Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherence to timekeeping standards; Employees are required to record the beginning and ending times of any shift, break or departure from work for personal reasons

+ Follows the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct

+ Understands and follows all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from Supervisors

+ Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements

+ Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with company policy

+ Attends pertinent training on request

+ Attends company meetings as required

+ Other duties as assigned
