Description We are looking for a dedicated Tax Manager to join our team in Boulder, Colorado. In this role, you will oversee tax preparation, compliance, and strategic planning for a variety of clients, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with clients and colleagues, leveraging your expertise to deliver exceptional service and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and various entities, ensuring compliance with current tax laws.
• Develop and implement effective tax strategies in collaboration with clients to minimize liabilities and optimize savings opportunities.
• Conduct thorough research on evolving tax codes and regulations, providing clear recommendations on complex tax matters.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by offering expert advice and simplifying intricate tax concepts.
• Assist clients during tax audits, including preparing necessary documentation and interacting with tax authorities.
• Collaborate with accountants, bookkeepers, and financial advisors to provide seamless solutions and comprehensive support.
• Monitor legislative changes and ensure clients are informed of any tax implications.
• Review and refine processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction within the tax department. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Taxation is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within a public accounting firm.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks and other financial tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster client relationships and convey complex information.
• Certification or active pursuit of a designation such as CPA is highly preferred.
• Ability to stay updated on tax law changes and apply them effectively in client strategies.
