Director of Tax – Exciting Leadership Opportunity with Growth Potential

Are you an experienced Tax professional ready to take the reins of a growing department and make a real impact? We are looking for a Director of Tax to join our client’s dynamic organization. This leadership role, open due to retirement, will report directly to the VP of Accounting and oversee the Tax and Treasury functions in both the United States and Canada. This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a strong taxation background who wants to expand their expertise into Treasury operations while building a high-performing team.

What You’ll Contribute:

Tax Responsibilities

+ Bring your expertise to help our client navigate complex reporting, compliance, and planning activities:

+ Lead tax reporting and compliance efforts in the U.S. and Canada to ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and international taxes.

+ Oversee provision and planning processes, while providing actionable analysis to leadership.

+ Maintain compliance with all necessary filings and regulations.

+ Help design, build, and mature our client’s internal Tax department.

Treasury Responsibilities

+ Use this opportunity to expand your skillset by growing into Treasury management responsibilities:

+ Assist in developing and implementing/improving cash management strategies and forecasting models across the organization.

+ Act as the primary liaison with lenders and banks, managing relationships and ensuring compliance with debt covenants and loan obligations.

+ Identify and implement process improvement initiatives that modernize the Treasury function.

Requirements

Required Experience:

+ 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in Taxation.

+ Proven supervisory experience managing both direct and indirect reports.

+ A degree in Accounting (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or related field).

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

+ CPA designation is highly valued.

+ International tax experience, especially with Canadian taxation, is a big plus.

+ Existing Treasury experience or a desire to quickly learn and expand into this function.
