Description We are looking for a meticulous Public Staff Tax Accountant to join our team in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This is a Contract to permanent position offering a great opportunity for growth in the accounting field. The role involves handling tax preparation, bookkeeping, and audit support while working closely with clients to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns throughout the year.

• Support external audits by compiling and analyzing financial data.

• Perform bookkeeping tasks, including payroll processing and bank reconciliations.

• Ensure accurate documentation of financial transactions and maintain organized records.

• Assist clients with tax planning and compliance to meet regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and enhance service delivery.

• Monitor financial systems and suggest adjustments to ensure accuracy.

• Work additional hours during tax season (February through April) to meet increased client demands.

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting practices to provide informed guidance. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or tax preparation.

• Familiarity with federal tax return processes and external audit procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Proficiency in bookkeeping tasks, including payroll and bank reconciliations.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons (February through April).
