Description
A client in White Plains, NY is seeking an experienced Collections and Credit Specialist to join their dynamic team. This professional will play a critical role in managing the company's credit policy to minimize financial risk and ensure timely collection of outstanding payments. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and negotiation skills, strong analytical abilities, and a commitment to maintaining positive client relationships.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage and administer the collections process, including reaching out to clients to secure overdue payments in a timely and professional manner.
+ Analyze customer accounts to identify outstanding balances and reconcile discrepancies or disputes.
+ Evaluate creditworthiness of potential clients through analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and client applications.
+ Lead conversations regarding payment plans, terms, and conditions with customers to reduce risk while ensuring continued business relationships.
+ Process credit applications and maintain organized records of approvals, transactions, and customer correspondence.
+ Provide periodic reports on credit and collections activity, success rates, aged receivables, and risk exposure to management.
+ Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and customer service, to resolve account issues and support a seamless customer experience.
+ Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in credit management and collections.
+ Respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and resolve disputes efficiently and effectively
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
+ Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in credit review and collections.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and Excel; knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
+ Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to multitask while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
+ Detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytical abilities.
