Description

Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Controller – Plant Operations to join their team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This critical role will lead financial oversight for manufacturing facilities and production lines, playing a key part in strategic decision-making, cost analysis, and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning, operational finance, and continuous improvement to help drive performance and efficiency on the plant floor.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the financial liaison between plant management and the finance department, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

• Lead forecasting activities, including short-term, long-term, and budgetary planning, to support strategic decision-making.

• Manage the Business Unit P& L by tracking operational metrics, identifying risks and opportunities, preparing detailed analyses, and presenting actionable insights.

• Analyze cost drivers and partner with the operations team to find opportunities for cost savings and value creation.

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of standard cost data and maintain precise accounting for Business Unit results.

• Develop pricing strategies by interpreting customer contracts, monitoring compliance, conducting pricing analyses, and delivering results to executive management.

• Contribute to the development and refinement of comprehensive pricing models to enhance financial decision-making.

• Prepare financial evaluations for capital investments and track actual outcomes against projected returns.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and usability of business processes.

Requirements • Proven experience in KPI reporting, demonstrating the ability to measure and analyze operational performance.

• Strong skills in pricing analysis and financial modeling, with the ability to provide actionable insights.

• Expertise in financial analysis and budgeting, including forecasting activities.

• Proficiency in variance analysis to identify trends and anomalies.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering insights to plant management and executive teams.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements.

• Solid understanding of standard cost systems and accounting principles.

• Experience in analyzing customer contracts and developing pricing strategies.
