Under the direction of the Sr. Labor Relations Manager, we are seeking a skilled and experienced **Sr. Labor Relations Specialist** to support a union working environment at BASF’s largest North America site in Geismar, Louisiana. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with union contracts, resolve disputes, and foster positive labor relations within the organization.

+ Serves as the initial contact, SME, and liaison formanagement, employees, HRBPs, and union representatives on Geismar union contract, policies, and procedures applicable to union workforce
+ Serves as a representative for the organization in interactions with union leaders, including participating in grievance meetings, negotiations, and other labor related activities
+ Ensures compliance with CBA andprovides guidance to management and employees on CBA provisions including contract language interpretation
+ Provide expert guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to management
+ Conduct thorough, compliant, and fact-finding investigations to address complaints and grievances in accordance with established company and grievance procedures, ensuring prompt and fair resolution of complaints in a timely manner
+ Promote a positive and collaborative relationship between management and union leaders, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and a productive work environment
+ Collaborate with HR and management to develop and implement strategies for addressing and improving positive employee relations
+ Provides guidance to management on employment and labor laws and maintains current knowledge to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance
+ Maintains in depth knowledge and understanding of collective bargaining, labor relations, and human resources
+ Develop and deliver training programs on labor relations topics, including union rights and responsibilities, grievance procedures, and conflict resolution techniques
+ Assist in development of the negotiation strategy.Collects information and data to assess cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include management and union proposals, wages, benefits, working conditions, and other items
+ Maintain accurate records of labor relations activities, including grievances, negotiations, and contract changes, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements
If you...
+ Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or other related discipline.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of progressive professional Human Resources Business Partner/Generalist experience.
+ Broad knowledge of HR functions, including labor relations, employee relations, compliance, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, and policy implementation.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information on a day-to-day basis and use sound judgment to make decisions in a fair and consistent manner.
+ Ability to moderate, mediate, and mitigate conflict in a professional manner.
+ Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
+ Demonstrate ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of CBA, policies, and procedures.
