Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in Downers Grove, Illinois. In this role, you will manage critical bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting tax preparation processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a meticulous individual with expertise in QuickBooks and tax preparation who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Record and categorize financial transactions with precision using QuickBooks.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a monthly basis.
• Maintain and update general ledgers, ensuring compliance with established accounting standards.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Assist in gathering and organizing financial data for individual and business tax filings.
• Prepare supporting documentation for tax reviews and resolve any tax-related discrepancies.
• Communicate with clients to collect necessary financial information and address their inquiries.
• Create and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow summaries.
• Provide insights on expense trends and cash flow as needed.
• Support the preparation of sales tax reports and other compliance documents.

Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) and familiarity with tax preparation software such as ProSeries, UltraTax, or Lacerte.
• Strong understanding of financial reconciliation processes and general accounting principles.
• Experience working in a detail-oriented services or accounting firm environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of financial management.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
