    Description

    We are seeking a motivated Junior Cloud Security Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This role focuses on supporting the security operations of our cloud-based infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will assist in implementing and maintaining security measures, monitoring systems, and responding to incidents under the guidance of senior team members.

     

    100% REMOTE, 1-year contract, with potential for permanent rollover hire. (Full-time hours from day 1)

    Key Responsibilities

    + Assist in configuring and managing security tools and policies on Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.

    + Monitor cloud platforms for security alerts, vulnerabilities, and potential threats using tools like Azure Security Center, AWS GuardDuty, and GCP Security Command Center.

    + Support the implementation of access controls, identity management, and authentication protocols (e.g., IAM roles, Azure AD, GCP IAM).

    + Participate in incident response activities, including analyzing and mitigating security incidents.

    + Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.

    + Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to ensure secure configurations for cloud resources and applications.

    + Assist in maintaining compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) and internal security policies.

    + Document security procedures, configurations, and incident reports.

    + Stay updated on emerging cloud security trends, threats, and best practices.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    + 1-2+ years of experience in IT or cybersecurity (internships or relevant coursework acceptable).

    + Basic understanding of cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.

    + Familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, firewalls, intrusion detection, and access management.

    + Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider’s security tools (e.g., Azure Security Center, AWS GuardDuty, GCP Security Command Center) is a plus.

    + Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).

    + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.

    + Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate) are a plus but not required.

     

    Additional Preferred Skills

     

    + Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automating security tasks.

    + Understanding of DevSecOps principles and tools like Terraform or Ansible.

    + Exposure to SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Azure Sentinel) for log analysis.

    + Awareness of compliance frameworks and their application in cloud environments.
