Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team in Torrance, California. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in payroll processing and data entry. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a diverse workforce, while maintaining compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly payroll for a workforce of approximately 95 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and reconcile timecard reports, addressing missing punches and obtaining necessary approvals from employees and managers.
• Input payroll data into the ADP Workforce Now system, verifying and balancing batch totals for accuracy.
• Monitor and adjust meal break waivers and other payroll exceptions in compliance with company policies.
• Handle commission sheets and piece-rate calculations for specialized roles, ensuring adherence to varied pay structures.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data, including monitoring terminated employees to prevent erroneous payments.
• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure all payroll-related data is accurately reflected in financial records.
• Manage payroll adjustments, such as sick day requests and overtime calculations, in a timely manner.
• Generate and maintain detailed payroll reports for auditing and compliance purposes. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required.
• Strong understanding of payroll systems and processes, including multi-state payroll and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to reconcile data accurately.
• Familiarity with commission and piece-rate pay structures is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
