    The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work (UMSSW) is seeking a*Child Welfare Fellowship Faculty Field Instructor*. This position**is a non-tenure-track, 10-month, full-time Clinical Instructor/Social Work Professor position who will function as a Faculty Field Instructor for bachelor’s and master’s degree social work students who are participating in the Child Welfare Fellowship Education for Public Child Welfare Program. The position will be primarily stationed at a Local Department of Social Services or Department of Health and Human Services Office. *Essential Functions:* * Assess the field education learning needs of assigned students, develop field education learning activities, and assess students’ achievement of Social Work knowledge, skill, and value competencies and practice behaviors as described in current Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. * Provide individual and group field education sessions to approximately 8-10 BSW and MSW social work students for a minimum of one hour per week, per student during the field education placement based on the BSW/Foundation, Advanced Clinical, and Advanced Macro Field Education syllabi and Maryland’s child welfare pre-service competencies. * Utilize the UMSSW Electronic Field Notebook and the UMBC Intern Placement Tracking software system, develop learning agreements, provide detailed feedback on process recordings, and submit mid-semester and semester evaluations of student progress in a timely manner. * Participate in the selection of Child Welfare Fellowship BSW and MSW applicants. * Incorporate learning objectives of UMSSW courses into supervision and field instruction conferences with students to support integration of social work theories with practice including demonstration and coaching of skills during client interactions when appropriate. * Work collaboratively with Local Department of Social Services’ administrators, supervisors, and social work staff to recruit task supervisors for the field education team, identify appropriate learning activities and assignments, and incorporate Maryland child welfare practices, (for example, Maryland’s Integrated Practice Model) and other initiatives into field education.This consists of jointly choosing field education assignments, consulting on field education progress and achievement of social work competencies, and addressing any agency concerns regarding students’ practice behaviors. * Participate in select agency activities, meetings and trainings, which pertain to students’ field experiences including supporting retention efforts and licensure preparation. * Using instructional technology, plan and deliver monthly child welfare field education seminars, based on Maryland’s child welfare pre-service training curriculum. * Participate in the planning and delivery of child welfare training to Child Welfare Fellowship students including program and field education orientations, motivational interviewing, trauma informed child welfare practice, and child welfare and the court training programs. * Learn and implement the “Live Supervision” training model. * Participate in monthly Child Welfare Fellowship faculty meetings, program evaluation, program development and other program and faculty meetings held at UMSSW. * Participate in presentations on Child Welfare Fellowship, motivational interviewing, child welfare, and/or field education at national and local professional conferences and meetings. * Travel may be required to observe students in the field and to attend events and trainings at the UMBSSW. Ability for out-of-state travel for presentations at National Conferences is helpful. * Other duties as appropriate and assigned. *Education: *Master's degree required. *Experience: *Minimum of three (3) years of child welfare work experience is preferred. Three (3) years of previous field practicum instruction and/or supervisory experience is preferred. *Licensure: *LCSW-C preferred. *The hiring range for this position is$80,000-$90,000.* UMB is a Maryland state university.
