    The Site Health Team at LinkedIn is at the forefront of ensuring the platform's reliability, resilience, and operational excellence. Our mission is to safeguard the LinkedIn member experience during planned changes, stress conditions, and unplanned incidents across LinkedIn’s multi-region datacenter infrastructure. We are looking for full stack development experience, including building and integrating backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces for operational platforms or observability tools.

     

    We build scalable platforms, drive rigorous stress testing, and lead reliability-first development in partnership with engineering teams across the company. With AI and LLM-driven analytics as a strategic focus, we’re developing systems that transform incident data into actionable insights and recommendations to continuously improve site health and member trust.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

     

    This role will be based out of Sunnyvale, CA.

    Responsibilities:

    - Full stack development experience, including building and integrating backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces for operational platforms or observability tools.

     

    - You will scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speediness and quality.

     

    - Design, build, and operate scalable platforms that drive LinkedIn’s end-to-end incident lifecycle management, including detection, triage, mitigation, postmortem generation, and continuous improvement.

     

    - Build and maintain full-stack applications and dashboards that provide critical business and engineering insights into site health, operational risk, and incident trends.

     

    - You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.

     

    - You will produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

     

    - You will provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs. Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.

    • 2+ years of industry experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BS and 5+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 4+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 2+ years of relevant work experience.

    • Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale.

    • Knowledge of computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

    • Proven coding skills in Python or JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming.

    • Experience building web applications and services with IDEs, ant, junit, etc.

    • Experience with relational databases (transactional and non-transactional), database architecture, and distributed transaction management.

    The pay range for this role is $121,000 to $198,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
