The Packaging Mechanic will perform electrical/mechanical corrective and preventative maintenance on powder filling **(Stick packs, Kcups, Sachets & Pouches)** equipment, manufacturing equipment and systems which include control wiring, power distribution, controls and PLC.
+ Experience with machinery that puts powders into various forms of packaging.
+ Work with Production Manager and Mechanics to maximize efficiency of production lines.
+ Troubleshoot machine malfunctions to maintain maximum production and quality.
+ Communicate with supervisors, operators and other mechanics
+ Observes all mechanical and electrical equipment in operation and uses audio, visual and instrumental inspection to trouble shoot, repair, and maintain all equipment.
+ Dismantles production and manufacturing equipment and devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, install new or repaired parts, and reassemble the equipment and ensure production standard rates.
+ Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
+ Inspects used parts to determine status and control instruments for proper operation.
+ Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
+ Follows required Preventative Maintenance schedule by repairing defective parts, installing special functional and structural parts in equipment or devices, and lubricating and cleaning of parts and or equipment.
+ Starts equipment and devices to test their performance.
+ Repairs electrical equipment.
+ Assists the production and manufacturing personnel in the training for correct set up an operation of equipment.
+ Works on all work centers within the production and blending areas and/or where needed as directed by supervisor.
+ Maintains a clean and safe work area.
+ Assists in the training of other mechanics/maintenance personnel.
+ Assists in assessing and maintaining a safe work environment in the production areas by performing routine Self audits and reporting the results to the supervisor.
+ Performs routine maintenance on other facility equipment located in production or manufacturing
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
+ High School diploma or GED equivalent required. One-year certificate from college of technical school with a concentration in electronics or industrial mechanics, preferred.
+ Six years of combined mechanical and electrical experience or education equivalent.
SKILLS
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOP/GMP, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
+ Ability to utilize diagnostic equipment and tools.
+ Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish)
+ Ability to speak and communicate effectively with employees of the organization.
+ Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
+ Use independent judgment and recognize when it is necessary to partner with supervisor to deal with difficult problems.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers of common fractions and decimal.
**Pay Details:** $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
