    Job Description

    **Advance Local** has an exciting opportunity to join our Data team as a **Sr. Director, Data Product Development.** This position will be responsible for overseeing the design, development and deployment of software and processes to support large-scale, efficient data pipelines and optimize the availability of data to generate insights and address business needs. You'll be responsible for the planning, prioritization and execution of data production projects and processes, ensuring data integrity and quality standards, and recommending new technologies for data pipelines to ensure that they are scalable, repeatable and secure, and can serve multiple users in the organization.

     

    The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000 annually.

    What you'll be doing:

    + Lead, mentor and manage a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

    + Develop and execute the organization's data strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives, recommending new technologies and methodologies to improve data process

    + Oversee the design and development of scalable, efficient, and secure data pipelines and warehouses, ensuring systems are capable of handling large-scale data processing and storage

    + Implement and maintain standards for data quality and integrity, conducting regular audits and ensuring compliance with data governance policies

    + Work closely with other departments to understand their data needs and provide appropriate solutions

    + Plan, prioritize and manage data engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and scope

    + Encourage and faciliate rapid protyping, proof-of-concepts, and pilot projects to ensure cutting-edge solutions

    + Identify and champion opportunities to develop new data-driven advertising products or features that leverage emergeing technologies such as machine learning or generative AI

    + Continously evaluate emerging technologies and techniques to identify new opportunities for innovation in data processing, advertising, and platform capabilities

    + Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data technology, promoting the adoption of best practices and new tools to enhance data capabilities

    Our ideal candidate will have the following:

    + Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, engineering or a related field

    + Minimum of ten years of experience in data engineering, with at least five in a leadership role

    + Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex data projects

    + Strong understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL processes

    + Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g. Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

    + Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, or Scala

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically

    + Strong communication and collaboration skills to build strong partnerships with analytics and data science teams

    + Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark)

    + Knowledge of machine learning and data science principles

    + Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau

    + Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies

    + Experience managing teams (both direct and indirect reports) and vendors

    + Flexibility and agility in responding to shifting priorities

    + Proven experience in AdTech, including knowledge of DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, or equivalent advertising technology platforms

    + Familiarity with data flows, metrics and optimization techniques used in advertising and marketing technology
