    The Contracts Specialist will mainly support pre-award and some post-award activities and communicate on a regular basis with the Contracts Manager regarding pre-award activities. This position has a strategic role with the primary responsibility of reviewing, analyzing, and responding to business and legal requests with critical thought and eloquence, while maintaining continuity with the objectives of the Chief of Business Integration. This includes responding to RFP and other solicitations, analyzing NDAs, and performing external engagements with clients as directed by the Chief of Business Integration.

     

    This role requires strong communication in both written and verbal skills to coordinate and collaborate with both external clients and internal stakeholders. The Contract Specialist will work close with the Contracts Manager and Proposal Manager to review solicitations, NDAs/TAs; complete supplier profiles; and execute contract development activities, while assisting in managing business development objectives with respect to contract luggage and written products.

    Essential Functions / Responsibility:

    • Provide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure that both contract and legal products meet/exceed goals in delivering quality responses.

    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

    • Ensure that contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

    • Maintain a supplier repository, including yearly renewals.

    • Monitor and enforce contract compliance, including deliverables, milestones, and payment terms.

    • Review proposals for GSA compliance.

    • Develop a vision to drive performance based upon production metrics and culture enhancement.

    • Effectively communicate expectations to stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Define success criteria and disseminate to the stakeholders throughout the product life cycle.

    • Manage the process of innovation, identifying potential crises, and devise contingency plans effectively. Develop strategies that enable nimble response to challenges.

    • Continually collaborate and communicate with clients on contract scope and progress. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Plan and prepare for client engagements.

    • Be knowledgeable of all available purchasing contracts and educate the Sales Team and customers on the best contract for their purchase.

    • Periodically work off company premises for client visits and other business needs.

    • Negotiate payment terms and conditions.

    • Support the Sales Team in proposal reviews, including attending all color team reviews.

    Basic Knowledge Desired:

    • Understand the significance of the Nomad Core Values and display a demonstrated willingness to apply them.

    • Understand different contract mechanisms/types

    • Understand business law with respect to NDA, teaming agreements, and joint ventures.

    • Be agile, cheerful, and clear headed while managing multiple challenging tasks.

    Physical Demands:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

    • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.

    • The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.

    Working Environment:

    • The work environment is a partially outdoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F.

    • Fast-paced environment, open-concept office area.

    • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.

    • All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • BA / BS degree in Business, Business Management, Contracts Management, English or written word, strongly desired.

    • 1-3 years of direct work in a business operations management capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Knowledge and understanding of contract management activities, such as FAR, RFP, commercial contracts, and state / local contracts.

    • Experience reviewing OTAs, FAR / DFAR, commercial, and GSA contracts.

    • Must present excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
