As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Retirement Benefits Analyst 1, Retirement Benefits Analyst 2, or Retirement Benefits Analyst 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. The maximum salary for the Retirement Benefits Analyst 3 is $84,302.00 . + The Retirement Benefits Analyst 1 position has a Special Entrance Rate of $40,164.80/annually
+ The Retirement Benefits Analyst 2 position has a Special Entrance Rate of $43,243.20/annually
+ The Retirement Benefits Analyst 3 position has a Special Entrance Rate of $49,142.00/annually
LASERS requires all new hires to serve a minimum of eighteen (18) months not to exceed twenty-four (24) months in probational status including permanent state employees

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in employee benefits; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To determine eligibility for benefits and calculate benefits due retirement system members in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Close from a Retirement Benefits Supervisor or higher-level personnel.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Statewide Retirement Systems.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Retirement Benefits Analyst 2 by the absence of experienced-level retirement benefits analysis work.
Examples of Work
Audits and analyzes member files for accuracy of demographic information, total years of service
credit, contributions, membership, and retirement eligibility.
Determine LASERS membership eligibility for new hire/rehire state employees and other political
subdivisions, as well as requirements for all members transferring job categories which may
impact eligibility in other public retirement systems rather than LASERS and vice versa.
Receives and processes applications for reciprocal recognitions and actuarial transfers of service
credit to and from other statewide retirement systems according to LASERS’ laws and regulations.
Completes transcripts of service and reviews contributions being transferred to ensure no
overlapping credit is given, all eligible credit is transferred/reciprocated, and costs to members
are properly computed.
