    Position Summary:

    The System Director of Imaging Services is responsible for overseeing, integrating, and advancing imaging services across the entire healthcare system. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and innovation in imaging technologies and services. The System Director collaborates with senior leadership, medical staff, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for imaging service growth, quality improvement, and service line expansion. The role is accountable for budget management, performance metrics, staff development, technology adoption, and vendor relationships, all aimed at enhancing patient care and outcomes while aligning with the mission and strategic goals of the organization.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Required

    + Bachelor’s degree in Radiology Science, Healthcare or Business Administration (or a related field), combined with a Master’s degree in a related field.

    + Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or equivalent.

    + Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in hospital-based imaging services.

    + Demonstrated success in leading operations, finance, and clinical service delivery.

     

    Preferred

     

    + Advanced imaging certifications or additional leadership training.

    + Ten (10) years of leadership experience in multi-site or system-level imaging operations.

    Essential Job Functions:

    In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

     

    + Oversees and integrates all imaging modalities and services across all facilities within the health system.

    + Develops and executes strategic plans for imaging service line growth and innovation.

    + Collaborates with medical staff and healthcare leadership to drive imaging excellence and service alignment.

    + Ensures continuous compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.

    + Leads financial planning, budget management, and resource allocation for imaging services.

    + Monitors performance metrics, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction to drive continuous improvement.

    + Develops and maintains vendor relationships, procurement processes, and technology assessments.

    + Champions staff development, recruitment, retention, and succession planning for imaging teams.

    + Leads the adoption of advanced imaging technologies and clinical best practices.

    + Represents the organization at state, regional, and national forums related to imaging services.

    + Directs imaging-related education and community outreach initiatives.

    + Participates in cross-functional leadership meetings and supports enterprise-wide goals.

    Schedule Requirements

    + This role requires regular and sustained attendance.

    + The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

    + On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

    + Exposures (Continuously): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
