Job Title: X-ray TechnologistJob Description

The X-ray Technologist is responsible for taking X-rays of patients’ internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. This role involves explaining procedures to patients and ensuring minimal exposure to radiation.

Responsibilities

+ Verify patients’ identity and review physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.

+ Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.

+ Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.

+ Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.

+ Limit patients’ exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.

+ Ensure that the x-rays taken are of high quality to prevent repeat procedures.

+ Ensure that the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in good working order.

+ Promptly notify management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.

+ Maintain an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in using the Modmed system (Modernizing Medicine) EHR.

+ 2-3 years of experience in the field.

+ Experience with digital scanning machines.

+ Specialization in orthopedic imaging.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.

+ Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

+ NJ state license.

+ Proven experience working as an X-ray technician.

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.

+ A patient and compassionate disposition.

Work Environment

The position requires working on-site five days a week from 8 am to 4 pm, with no weekend shifts. The role involves working with two providers at a time, rotating among ten in total, within an orthopedic office that focuses on bone-related issues. The office schedules patients, with a high volume of bone scans and little to no walk-ins, performing approximately 20-30 scans per day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $78080.00/yr.

weeks of PTO - includes NJ Sick, but it's all in one bucket. Can't use PTO in the first 3 months, but still accrue time biweekly.

8 paid holidays per year - New years, presidents day, Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas. We also try to sneak in a long weekend if holidays fall on a Thursday or Tuesday. Half days usually before New years and christmas.
