Construction Materials Technician
Are you passionate about construction and eager to make a tangible impact on the quality of building projects? Join our dynamic Field Division as a Construction Materials Technician!
We're on the lookout for a dedicated professional with over 2 years of hands-on experience in testing and inspecting construction materials, particularly concrete and soils. This role offers the opportunity to work at various local job sites, utilizing specialized tools to collect and test samples of concrete, soils, and aggregates.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct thorough on-site testing and inspection of concrete and soils.
+ Collect and analyze samples of construction materials, including concrete, soils, and aggregates.
+ Perform critical tests such as breaking cylinders and running proctors.
+ Ensure all work adheres to relevant standards and regulations.
+ Travel to diverse job sites equipped with necessary tools and equipment.
+ Maintain meticulous records of tests and inspections.
Essential Skills:
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction materials and geotechnical field.
+ Proficiency with ACI Certification and on-site concrete and soils testing.
+ Expertise in breaking cylinders and running proctors.
+ In-depth knowledge of CMT, soils, concrete inspection, geotechnical procedures, and field technician duties.
+ Valid ACI Level 1 Field Certification or equivalent certifications (ICC, ACI, NICET, TXAPA).
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ Experience with nuclear gauge testing is a plus.
+ Possession of other relevant certifications from third-party independent certifiers that require written and/or performance exams.
Work Environment: This role is entirely field-based, requiring you to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold. Expect work hours to range from 40-70 hours per week, with the possibility of early morning pours at 1 or 2 am. Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands of fieldwork and the varying hours.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
