    Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description

     

    We are seeking an entry-level construction materials technician to join our team and test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the lab. The candidate will receive comprehensive in-house training from experienced employees. This role requires effective communication with various stakeholders including project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives to ensure project requirements are met. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for transporting material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, and documenting findings and results clearly.

    Responsibilities

    + Communicate effectively with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor's representative, and others regarding construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.

    + Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

    + Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.

    + Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

    + Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites as needed.

    + Adhere to strict safety standards.

    + Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

    + Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Knowledge of concrete testing, materials testing, and concrete inspection.

    + Understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes.

    + Ability to use nuclear density gauge and perform soil sampling.

    + Strong communication skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Must have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geoscience, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.

    + Alternatively, direct experience as a field technician is acceptable.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is dynamic, with a focus on safety and teamwork. You will be using various technologies and equipment to test and analyze materials. The role may involve fieldwork and requires adherence to safety standards. The position involves a hands-on approach and may occasionally require flexible scheduling to meet project demands.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
