Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
As a CNC Machinist, you will be working on various milling machines, including Okuma models. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, as well as reading and editing programming when necessary. The role requires proficiency in changing over and operating the machines, with up to 4-5 setups per day. You will also need to change G codes and M codes on the machines, utilize micrometers and calipers for quality inspection, and enter data using a computer system for labor reporting.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
+ Read and edit machine programming as required.
+ Perform up to 4-5 setups per day.
+ Change G codes and M codes on machines.
+ Inspect quality of pieces using micrometers and calipers.
+ Enter data using the computer system for labor reporting.
+ Run machinery for 80% of the day.
+ Complete data entry tasks for 10% of the day.
+ Clean the area and pack products for 10% of the day.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with CNC mills and lathes.
+ Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.
+ Ability to perform multiple setups.
+ Knowledge of G and M codes.
+ Strong math and computer skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Programming experience.
+ Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
+ Blueprint reading skills.
+ Troubleshooting abilities.
+ Familiarity with grinders and grinding processes.
+ Knowledge of mechanical and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (Gd&t).
+ Mazak and/or DMG mill CNC experience (2-3 years).
+ Ability to work with tolerances to a thousandths.

Work Environment
You will be part of a larger company, working with a CNC team of about 30-50 people. The work schedule includes 1st Shift from 6am-2:30pm and 2nd Shift from 2pm-10:30pm, with initial training conducted on the 1st Shift from 6:30am-3pm. The dress code requires steel-toed footwear and appropriate work clothes for a safe and productive environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Morton Grove, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
