Job Title: Tool Crib Attendant

Job Description

The Tool Crib Attendant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the machine shop by handling materials and conducting inventory checks on parts. This includes maintaining stock levels for 40 machines, particularly focusing on end mill parts used for drilling. The attendant will also be responsible for ordering and keeping inventory fully stocked to meet lead times in the shop. Effective communication over the phone is crucial, as the role involves making calls to order parts and negotiating timely delivery to prevent delays.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct inventory checks on parts in the machine shop.

+ Ensure all 40 machines have their required end mill parts.

+ Order and maintain stock levels to meet lead times.

+ Track inventory using basic spreadsheet tools.

+ Communicate effectively over the phone to order parts and negotiate deals.

+ Perform local deliveries using a truck (No CDL or box trucks required).

Work Environment

Work primarily in the Tool Crib Area and the machine shop, ensuring all areas are fully supplied with necessary parts. The shop is climate-controlled to meet the precision tolerances required for production. The role operates on the first shift, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays twice per month or as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
