Job Description:
The Production Planner is responsible for creating, disseminating, managing, and tracking progress of the production schedule. This includes maintenance of master data, management of production orders, cross-functional collaboration, and reporting responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Always exemplify the Alpine safety culture and serve as a role model for fellow employees in pursuit of an incident-free workplace.
+ Maintain the master schedule using sales and procurement forecasts along with management guidance.
+ Create daily production schedules and associated resource requirements to meet master schedule requirements.
+ Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, sales, production, procurement, or engineering.
+ Requisition and maintain inventories of materials necessary to meet production demands.
+ Confer with other departments to coordinate production activities and to resolve delays.
+ Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
+ Confer with production leadership to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
+ Compile status reports according to the needs of the business.
+ Provide documentation and information to account for delays or difficulties.
+ Collaborate with the cross-functional team to ensure that operational priorities are achieved, and that the business grows sustainably year over year.
+ Maintain open lines of communication to ensure the accurate dissemination of priorities and feedback across all levels of the organization, including maintenance of KPIs and completion of production reports to management.
+ Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the plant’s policies, processes, and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree preferred.
+ 2+ years of planning experience with mechanical, electrical, motion control and related components assemblies and systems preferred.
+ Able to manage detailed plans months in advance while accounting for all changes.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as charts, spreadsheets, diagrams, and procedure manuals.
+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system.
