DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be tasked with creating and developing visual art projects aimed at promoting the initiatives of the Department of Environmental Protection. As an Artist Illustrator 2, your responsibilities will encompass a range of design activities, requiring proficiency in graphic design, illustration, typography, color theory, and art reproduction. The projects you will undertake include logo creation, publication design, infographics, social media advertisements, email campaigns, web graphics, story maps, custom illustrations, photography, posters, signage, and exhibits. Precision and specialized skills in graphic software and various art media are essential to deliver high-quality graphic designs and illustrations. You will collaborate with agency personnel to discuss project goals and devise innovative, efficient solutions to achieve the desired visual outcomes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Two years as an Artist Illustrator I (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or
+ T hree years of progressively responsible art experience, including illustration preparation and general display and exhibits work; and two years of formal training in fine arts or design.
+ Appropriate art experience may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
