We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will be part of our Retail team focused on building iconic customer and associate experience in Intelligent Document Processing modernization. As part of the Technology organization, you will have the opportunity to build Document Center solutions to create best in class developer experiences in bringing business and platform capabilities to market.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

+ Work with fellow associates to understand the real-life challenges of customers document prep before arriving to the store.

+ Customize the Document prep flows and enhance both customer and associate experience and standardize the pre-appointment document upload, review and verify processes.

+ Collaborate with colleagues in product design, product management and systems architecture to develop experimental solutions and bring great ideas to life.

+ Market your innovative ideas internally and evolve them according to feedback and critique within an agile environment.

+ Stay on top of industry trends and best practice to continuously improve what we do and ensure our customer experience is the best it can be.

Purpose of the role

It takes a passion for technology to develop ground-breaking products. Working collaboratively and creatively as part of a close-knit product team, you will be part of the Intelligent document processing modernization initiative from end to end: consulting users, carrying out experiments, tackling complex business problems and implementing new products. You can balance customer and CarMax associate needs with business goals and know how to deliver technical solutions that enhance business value. Creative, curious, and highly analytical, you never stop learning and thrive on constant change in the digital marketplace.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required

+ Strong teamwork skills, ability to learn quickly, excellent written and spoken communication required.

+ 5+ years of application development experience required.

Experience in the following Required

+ 5+ years of experience with the .NET Core/C#/ Microsoft Azure offerings

+ Knowledge of SQL Server and NoSQL database technologies.

+ Experience collaborating with multiple teams.

+ Experience working with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

+ Experience with RESTful APIs

+ Experience with HTML / CSS

+ GIT experience.

Experience in the following preferred:

+ Experience with Front-end architecture.

+ Experience with React.js and its core principles.

+ Experience with AI Technologies in the Microsoft Stack such as Azure Cognitive Services (specifically Decision Making Toolset).

+ Experience working within a product organization.

**Work Location and Arrangement:** This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA CarMax Technology Innovation Center or the Dallas, TX Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.

**Work Authorization** : Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
