    The Walt Disney Company's Disney Entertainment (DE) segment is one of the company’s three core business segments, alongside ESPN and Disney Experiences. DE also houses global advertising sales and ad technology for all Disney media properties. This centralization of ad sales provides advertisers a one-stop-shop for reaching diverse audiences across all of Disney’s media properties, including its online and direct-to-consumer platforms.

     

    This individual will work closely with Disney’s Ad Sales Revenue and Yield Management Sports team, as well as the ESPN Programming Finance and ESPN Research teams to prepare strategic financial plans for key forecast periods (annual budget, long-range plan, and quarterly forecasts) for the ESPN line of business. They will oversee recurring deliverables including Ad Sales consolidation, Rate/Volume analysis, Liability reporting, Ad Sales pacing, and Ad Sales Forecasting/Planning.

     

    In parallel to these responsibilities, this role relies on a key understanding and working knowledge of the department’s Business Intelligence activities, namely building ad hoc reports, conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of data enhancements, and creating new data visualizations. A strong analytical and systems reporting background is necessary.

    Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

    + Lead the process of consolidating Ad Sales forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans for every ESPN line of business.

    + Consolidate and prepare weekly reports that provide senior management with a snapshot of Ad Sales for various ESPN media groups including, but not limited to Ad Sales pacing and Liability performance.

    + Maintain forecast models for the annual budget, long-range plan, and quarterly forecasts continually adapting models to the constantly changing landscape of media Ad Sales. Ensure reporting is aligned with all modeling needs.

    + Create ad hoc reports within Business Objects and MicroStrategy, assist in UAT of new data enhancements within universe, and contribute to new and existing data visualizations and dashboards as necessary.

    Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

    + 2+ years of experience in a corporate finance / business analytics role

    + Advanced Excel abilities (Nested statements, pivot tables, charting, combining functions like Index, Match, Offset and Indirect)

    + Demonstrated experience working closely with information systems and/or strong ability to quickly learn new information systems

    + Experience with Business Intelligence products, i.e. Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy (Visual dashboarding a plus)

    + Strong analytical skills and the ability to transition seamlessly from explaining micro details to communicating how they impact the big picture

    + Acute attention to detail and aptitude for troubleshooting data discrepancies

    + Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in fields of Accounting/Finance/Economics

    Preferred:

    + MBA preferred

     

    The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $108,200 to $132,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
