    JOB PURPOSE:

    The **Project Manager III** plays a critical role in ensuring successful project delivery by applying established project management principles and methodologies. This position is responsible for managing complex projects from initiation through to delivery. The role involves liaising with engineering project team members, external customers, partners, vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams within the organization.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    This role will be assigned responsibility for 4-6 projects of mid- to large- team sizes and engagement with other divisions of the company (such as Operations, Implementation, Training).

    Key responsibilities include:

    + **Project Planning and Monitoring:** Develop detailed project plans, track progress, and make necessary adjustments to ensure project milestones are met.

    + **Facilitating Meetings and Ceremonies:** Organize and lead meetings to ensure effective communication among team members and stakeholders.

    + **Implementing SDLC:** Apply the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles to maximize efficiency and effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.

    + **Resource Allocation:** Adjust resource allocations as necessary to respond to project needs and challenges.

     

    The Project Manager III operates independently, exercising sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Through effective management of resources, timelines, and stakeholder expectations, this role contributes significantly to the organization’s overall success and profitability.

    Key Responsibilities and Objectives:

    1. **Project Oversight:** Oversee and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.

    2. **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

    3. **Risk Management:** Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project success.

    4. **Quality Assurance:** Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and align with client expectations.

     

    By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Project Manager III ensures that projects not only meet their objectives but also enhance the organization’s reputation and profitability.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The position works under general direction of the Director of Program Management Office (PMO), exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in the department.

     

    This position does not supervise any other personnel or reports.

    + This position interacts with external vendors and solutions partners.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Skill Sets:

    The Project Manager III should possess several key attributes to effectively manage projects and lead teams. Here are some of the most important attributes:

     

    + **Leadership** : Ability to inspire and motivate team members; guide teams through challenges by fostering collaboration and shared responsibility; celebrate victories; prior experience in a leadership role or managing teams is often required, demonstrating the ability to lead complex projects successfully.

    + **Communication** : Excellent, clear, concise verbal and written communication; ability to convey complex information to stakeholders at all levels.

    + **Organization Skills** : Ability to prioritize tasks; ability to manage multiple concurrently running projects; proficient in planning and driving to on-time/on-schedule delivery.

    + **Adaptability** : Ability to adjust plans in response to changes in circumstances and communicate the impact; open to take and able to apply feedback to change as benefitting the team.

    + **Attention to Detail** : Ensure quality standards are met in reviewing of plans, schedules, proposals, deliverables; clear in stating objectives.

    + **Technical Proficiency** : Familiar with Project Management tools (e.g. MS Project, SmartSheet) to prepare project plans/GANTTs/KPIs; knowledge of what an SDLC is and how to apply to work; knowledge about current methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps, Waterfall, Lean, Feature Driven Development, Test Driven Development) and how to effectively apply to projects.

    + **Documentation** : Ability to create and generate reports, track metrics, create presentations

    + **Interpersonal Skills** : Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams and influence stakeholders.

    Other Considerations:

    + Bachelor’s degree or greater in any major; candidates with a degree or university certificate in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology or a concentration in Project Management preferred; recent Project Management work experience can substitute for a degree or concentration.

    + **Certification** from Project Management Institute (PMI) in PMP, PgMP, PfMP, CAPM, ACP, PBA; and/or SAFe RTE, SP, SSM, LPM, SPC; and/or CSM, PAL, PSF; and/or PRINCE2 is desirable.

    + **Work experience** should reflect Project Management responsibilities in the recent 5-8 years; work should note increasing complexity (such as in technical/technology, team size or assigned count of projects) in nature of projects managed.

    + **Preference given** for projects that are focused on software development, retail software solutions, and business-to-business (to business’ customers); experience with SDLC and iteration delivery very important.

     

    The base compensation range for this position is $115,000.00 to $125,000.00 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
