Vocational Program Supervisor

Purpose:
The Vocational Training Center provides bulk-mail opportunities in a structured environment for participants to complete paid contract work at minimum-wage pay. Developing vocational skills and work behaviors necessary to participate in competitive employment situations is emphasized. Additionally, participants are offered various volunteer experiences, tours, educational and recreational outings, health and wellness activities, and so forth when contract work and staffing permit.
The Vocational Program Supervisor supervises a team of 15 Lead Vocational and Vocational Specialists when fully staffed. This position works Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Travel between Pittsburgh (South Side) location and McKeesport location is required two to three times per month. Street parking is available at both locations or obtain a UPMC lease lot.
Responsibilities:
• **Evaluate Program Goals:** Assess past year's goals to identify accomplishments and areas for improvement for strategic planning.
• **Regulatory Compliance:** Ensure the program meets all licensing and regulatory requirements.
• **Database Management:** Maintain databases for attendance, service notes, billing, etc., for various funding streams.
• **Program Growth:** Identify and propose growth opportunities to leadership.
• **Staff Evaluations:** Conduct regular performance evaluations of staff.
• **Reporting:** Compile and submit reports as requested by leadership.
• **Community Representation:** Represent the program with community providers and within the larger service line.
• **School District Coordination:** Manage reports and billing with school districts and facilitate contract submissions.
• **Supervision:** Provide weekly clinical and administrative supervision to staff.
• **Payroll:** Complete monthly payroll for program participants.
• **Staff Management:** Handle hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
• **Documentation Audits:** Monitor and audit documentation of consumer records.
• **Billing:** Complete internal and external billing for submission to the fiscal office.
• **Training:** Supervise training and orientation for new and current staff.
• **Communication:** Regularly update program participants, families, and residential providers.
• **Daily Operations:** Oversee and coordinate daily functions, managing both clinical and administrative issues.
• **Staff Training:** Facilitate staff training to meet regulatory expectations and enhance service delivery.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, or other human service field. Master's degree preferred.
• Griffin-Hammis Certification in Discovery and Customized Employment required, or its equivalent.
• Two to three years prior experience in an applied setting working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
• Experience with individuals with a dual (MH/ID) diagnosis is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of behaviorally oriented treatment programs.
• At least two years supervisory experience preferred.
