Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides prophylaxis treatments and education to patients.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Calls the patient to confirm scheduled appointment. (5%)

+ Evaluates patient, takes blood pressure, and reviews medical history prior to dental prophylaxis. (10%)

+ Performs prophylaxis treatments, scaling and root planning, and periodontal probing. (65%)

+ Documents overall oral hygiene in the patient chart for review by the dentist and ensures proper billing procedures. (10%)

+ Explains procedure to patients/families and provides teaching instructions and or materials for home care. (10%)

+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

+ Current Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene License.

+ CPR – American Heart Association

+ Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

+ Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

+ Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

+ 1 year of dental hygienist experience preferred.
