We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Control Engineerto join a leading Company located in the Fulton, NYsurrounding area.

Salary: $100k- $125K/yr

A global leader in the design, development and distribution of extrusion and converting technology. Our systems encompass over 11 product lines to support manufacturing applications and customers in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, building & construction, consumer products, medical, and packaging.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Design control systems for continuous web handling machinery to the sold specifications

+ Lead Controls Engineering Projects from kick-off to installation/commissioning at Customer site

+ Coordinate the review of the mechanical and electrical design to ensure it meets engineering specifications and sequence of operation

+ Assist designers in the generation of BOM's (Bill of Materials)

+ May oversee the work of other design engineers and work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner

+ Provide backup support for assembly, purchasing and field-service related questions and problems

+ Attend job kickoff meetings, engineering review meetings, and customer meetings

+ Travel up to 10% for customer visits, vendor meetings, and start-up/commissioning as required

+ Perform other duties as assigned by the Controls and Electrical Engineering Manager

+ Awareness of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, EHS&S programs

Basic Hiring Criteria:

+ Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or controls related 4-yr degree

+ 5+ years of controls and electrical systems design experience with industrial automation or automated machinery preferred

+ Control System design including electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, BOMs, test plans, manuals, etc.

+ Extensive experience with high-speed servo applications and variable frequency drives (VFD's)

+ Extensive programming knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC's required

+ Extensive HMI programming experience using applications including RSView ME/SE or Wonderware

+ Familiarity or knowledge of web handling/conveyance and or coordinated drive systems

+ Familiarity or knowledge of 'closed loop' drive control (not encoder control)-> I.e., Use external feedback device's (loadcell, dancer, etc.) to control the drive and the ability to tune the PID loop for an acceptable motor response

+ Familiarity or knowledge of common bus drive systems

+ Experience with SCADA systems and their requirements

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD

+ Expert in utilizing Microsoft Office products

+ Enhanced written and verbal communication skills required

+ Can sit in our Pawcatuck CT and Gloucester MA offices. Any candidates that might sit in CT or MA will need to travel to Fulton for several weeks (home on wknds) for training
