Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta, GA is seeking to hire a full-time Pastry Sous Chef to assist the Executive Pastry Chef in the preparation of all baked goods. JOB SUMMARY:
The Pastry Sous Chef takes responsibility in the day-to-day operations of the pastry shop, assisting the Head Pastry Chef with daily tasks. This position is most important for the production of pastries/cakes. You will work in a fast-paced, exciting culinary environment and excellent teamwork and communication skills are necessary to succeed in this role.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN PASTRY SOUS CHEF
You start each day ready to be a part of a fast-paced and fun culinary environment. As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you are fully responsible for the Pastry Shop operations when the Executive Pastry Chef is not present. You love being able to create delicious baked goods, pastry items, wedding cakes, and other special sweet preparations. You maintain the file of all recipes used in the Pastry Shop, as well as decorating templates and stencils needed for cake decorations. You take great pride in each and every product that leaves the kitchen because you have tested it to determine that it is prepared and plated according to your high standards. Being able to create smiles through your culinary creations' attractive and appetizing presentation is your favorite part of your job.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ 2-5 yrs. culinary experience.
+ Graduate of culinary school or apprenticeship program.
+ Certification or the ability to certify as Pastry Culinarian in 2 yrs.
