    Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will develop function and systems requirements and specifications for systems that meet business requirements. You will consult with customers to refine functional requirements. You will ensure the integration of all systems components; e.g., procedures, databases, policies, software, and hardware. You will analyze, design, implementation and testing to ensure compliance with standards. You will design databases using MySQL, MS SQL Server, MS Access, and Oracle. You will monitor and optimize database performance and tuning database operations. You will install, configure, and maintain database management systems software. You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of data management services. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Assessing and determining governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing data; developing and promoting data management methodology standards; selecting and implementing the appropriate tools, software, applications and systems to support data technology goals; and overseeing the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics to ensure data quality. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: assists in the design, planning, and execution of work measurement, methods, and procedure, and/or benchmarking studies of complex work processes or functions in support of the enterprise mission. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: overseeing policy and process; participating on advisory committees; coordinating with management representatives; preparing and presenting briefings; and recommending work process or other changes to management. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Planning, designing, and executing studies to analyze methods, processes, and procedures to improve workflow, eliminate unnecessary tasks, and/or automate processes; and benchmarking to analyze why one organization outperforms another. In addition your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing and maintaining an information management and information technology process for long and short range planning and risk management including: data design, management planning, development, implementation, problem resolution, and administration within or outside of the agency. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
