    The University of Dubuque is seeking applicants for the position of **Interim Director of Seminary Admissions** .

    Position Summary:

    The interim director brings glory to God and blessing to God's world by serving as ambassador of the seminary to church members and congregations who would benefit in their faith and service by participating in UDTS formation and education. The interim director supports the discernment process of prospective learners and supports them through the admissions process and enrollment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Coordinate and engage in the recruiting and admissions of people to degree and certificate programs, as well as individual courses of benefit

    + Reach out to Christians and churches via media, correspondence, telephone, zoom, and visits

    + Support inquirers in their discipleship through discernment conversation and prayer

    + Provide inquirers program information and application invitations

    + Usher prospective learners through the application and enrollment processes - coordinating with faculty, staff, other departments, and utilizing university software related to admissions and enrollment

    + Oversee outreach to individuals and churches, admissions, and nurturing of prospective students through the discernment and admission process to enrollment in any course, or matriculation in any of these programs: CEP (Congregational Equipping Program, non-clergy) certificate courses, all master-level degrees, and Doctor of Ministry degree

    + Monitor and respond promptly to emails and phone messages

    + Oversee the creation and maintenance of applicant files in print and electronic form

    + Review applications through GradCAS

    + Send completed applications to appropriate faculty for review and approval

    + Refer applications to the CEP certificate program to the CEP Director

    + Collaborate with the Seminary Dean, the Seminary Pastor to Students, and the Director of Seminary Vocation to support a full discernment experience and smooth admission process

    + Identify and contact denominational and other ministry-based organizations that would benefit from seminary offerings in formation and education

    + Coordinate seminary and program messaging and communications with the Dean and a Graduate Assistant

    + Travel for interpretive events and recruiting

    + Coordinate outreach and interpretive opportunities by students, alums, faculty and others

    + Present data relevant to the admissions process to the dean and the seminary faculty-staff

    + Attend the monthly seminary faculty-staff council

    + Attend the Admissions Task Force Meetings and provide some leadership

    + Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's mission

    Position Skills and Abilities:

    + Ability to listen to people's expressions of faith and service and reflect potential elements of call; articulate and interpret the seminary's degree and certificate programs

    + Establish and maintain effective relationships with churches and members, prospective learners, current students, faculty, staff, and administrators

    + Learn and use GradCAS on behalf of the seminary admission process

    + Work with other staff in creating student records in Jenzabar

    + Ability to articulate the mission of the seminary with commitment

    + Some knowledge of theological education, or willingness to learn the landscape

    Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred

    + Deep love of Christ, Christ's church, and God's world

    + Personal experience in ministry - professional preferred, but robust volunteer lay/officer experience also valued

    + Available to make contacts or travel beyond flexible office hours
