    Position Summary

    _**Adult Summer and Fall Softball League Operations require performing duties: Sundays-Fridays 5:30-10:30 p.m._

     

    **GENERAL SUMMARY:** Conduct adult softball league recreation activities with the City of Dubuque, taking into account the needs and interests of individual members; and perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Duties

    JOB DUTIES:

    + Serve as onsite coordinator/supervisor; and umpire on occasion.

    + Fill out score cards for umpires.

    + Collect nightly scores.

    + Close and lock bathrooms, press boxes, and entrance gates each night.

    + Maintain park cleanliness.

    + Communicate with Recreation Supervisor regarding staff issues, softball complaints, and decisions made regarding the program or staff.

    + Attend summer and fall captain's meetings.

    + Update the rain-out hotline on game days after 5:00 pm.

    + Assist the concessions workers on occasion when needed.

    + Greet customers, patrons, or visitors.

    + Respond to patron comments, questions, and concerns.

    + Administer first-aid to participants, or call for assistance.

    + Enforce rules or regulations.

    + Promote products, services, or programs.

    + Gather information in order to provide services to clients.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    + **Customer and Personal Service** - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

    + **Service Orientation** - Looking for ways to help people.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Must be at least 21 years of age.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Knowledge and background of ASA softball rules/regulations.

    **WORKING CONDITIONS:** Work is performed in an outdoor setting under extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, etc.
