    Our **Digital Technology (DT** ) organization ensures that Raytheon teammates across the globe can communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support IT infrastructure around the world.

    What You Will Do:

    **Sr. Principal System Administrator,** in infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

    + Manage and optimize the server infrastructure in a heterogeneous information system.

    + Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.

    + Supervising administrators whose duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

    + Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned

    + Participating in Change Request reviews, to include participating in Change Management boards at multiple program levels.

    + Participating in and leading technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, and representing the organization in functional area matters

    + Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

    + Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

    + Travel is required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate. Up to 10% per year.

    + Other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications You Must Have** **:

    + Typically, bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of direct system experience or a master’s degree and 5+ years of directly related experience.

    + Must have an active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    + Must Linux experience.

    + Must have experience with some but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Veeam, AWS, MySQL, Remote Desktop Gateway, and Netwrix, prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.

    + Must have experience in mentoring others or lead experience.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.

    + Organizational skills to include attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask.

    + An active DoD TS

    + Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification

    + Experience with handling and working with classified information.

    + Knowledge in the following areas: patch management, High Performance Computing, OS Upgrades, computer security, system monitoring and logging

    + Knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems. Knowledge of virtual host solutions (e.g., VMware)

    + Experience with requirements gathering, planning, and managing deployment, installation, maintenance and upgrade efforts, over multiple geographic sites.

    + Experience managing IT services and support in a 24/7 real-time operational environment.

    + Experience with legacy system i.e. Solaris, Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016. Windows NT/XP/7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4/5/6

    The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
