ADP is hiring a Senior Data Steward.

In this role you will play a critical leadership role in the Data Operations team within ADP's HRO Analytics organization. As a steward, you will take permanent ownership of multiple critical data domains (examples: Sales, Finance, Marketing, Tax, Client Services, Benefits), ensuring their ongoing health, usability, and strategic value. You will serve as the trusted authority for your domains, guiding both technical and business stakeholders to high-quality, certified data assets.

This position blends technical expertise, product thinking, and relationship management to maximize the value and adoption of our data products across the organization. As a Senior Data Steward, you will help build a data-driven culture where high-quality, discoverable, and actionable data fuels business success.

Key Responsibilities:

+ **Domain Ownership:** Act as the final decision-maker for data definitions, standards, and certifications within assigned domains.

+ **Data Product Advocacy:** Drive utilization of certified data sets by communicating their value, monitoring adoption trends, and ensuring the best sources are used across key business deliverables.

+ **Community Leadership:** Host domain councils to capture user needs, identify data gaps, and collaborate on improvements. Engage with knowledge communities following the strategic objectives of the Data Governance Program Manager and Director of Data Operations.

+ **Data Quality and Monitoring:** Configure and maintain data quality rules (using Anomalo and Databricks), triage data issues, perform root cause analyses using SQL and PySpark, and lead the resolution process.

+ **Data Documentation and Certification:** Maintain up-to-date business glossaries, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation in Alation. Manage the certification lifecycle of data assets.

+ **Stakeholder Collaboration:** Partner with engineering, business intelligence, and product management teams to ensure alignment of data assets with business needs and strategic priorities.

+ **Knowledge Building:** Develop technical proficiency and strategic insights through active participation in analytics initiatives, promoting a journey toward technical product ownership.

+ **Business Process Expertise:** Demonstrate a deep understanding of business processes within assigned data domains and apply this knowledge to support analytics initiatives and drive strategic insights.

+ **Culture Champion:** Foster an environment of enablement, collaboration, and approachability, breaking down knowledge silos and building relationships across analytics teams.

+ **Example Role Performance Indicators:**

+ **Data Quality:** Healthy Table %, Certified Table %, and % of Data Quality Issues Resolved.

+ **Utilization:** Monthly Data Product and Data Catalog (Alation) usage.

+ **Knowledge:** Catalog Completeness, Knowledge Article Usage, SME Engagement.

+ **Service Excellence:** Issue Resolution Time and Requestor Satisfaction Rates for domain-specific issues.

Required Qualifications:

+ 5+ years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, data quality management, data analytics, or a related field.

+ Deep understanding of business processes within key data domains. (Tax and Payroll is a plus)

+ Demonstrate fundamental understanding of technical skills require for Data Root Cause Analysis (SQL, Data Manipulation, Quality Analysis)

+ Experience working with metadata catalogs (Alation preferred), data quality platforms (Anomalo preferred), and access management tools (Immuta experience a plus).

+ Strong understanding of data governance principles, data certification standards, and regulatory compliance requirements (SOX, GSO alignment).

+ Proven ability to build and engage with knowledge communities and to drive domain-level strategic discussions.

+ Excellent communication skills with a track record of building trust and partnerships across technical and non-technical audiences.

+ Solution-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience hosting or facilitating community councils or knowledge forums.

+ Proficient in SQL, Alteryx, Databricks, and PySpark.

+ Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern data architecture concepts.

+ Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
