Taussig RN Care Coordinators care for patients as the one point of contact throughout their oncology journey. They provide education to patients and their families regarding their disease, treatment plans, medications, and side effects and utilize their nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills to triage symptoms as they arise, responding to patient phone calls and MyChart messages. This nursing position is truly the best of both worlds as you are still patient-facing, patient-focused and a patient-advocate without the stress and strain of bedside shift work, working weekends or holidays. You can leave work each day knowing the impact of your role during the vulnerable time in our patient's lives.
A caregiver in this position will work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm no weekends or holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team across the continuum of care
+ Provide education and coordination of care regarding disease, treatment plan and medications
+ Serve as a liaison and advocate for patients and families
+ Assist in managing transitions of care across care settings, ensuring optimal communication and planning
+ Identify barriers, facilitate solutions and connect others to internal and community resources
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include **:**
+ Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
+ Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
+ Three to five years of RN experience required.
+ Any registered nurse or advanced practice nurse must obtain a cancer specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the timeframe of the facilities accreditation cycle, if they work in medical oncology, radiation oncology, cancer center or cancer clinic and/or administer chemotherapy within an accredited Cleveland Clinic facility.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
+ RN experience in direct patient care, care coordination and/or oncology
+ Specialty certification.

Physical Requirements:
+ Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
+ Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
+ May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
+ Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
