Inspire Excellence in Nursing as a Nurse Educator!
Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of nursing professionals? As a Nurse Educator, you’ll play a key role in developing, reviewing, and implementing training programs that ensure nursing staff are fully equipped to provide exceptional care. You’ll help them thrive in delivering competent, proficient care to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, substance abuse disorders, and chronic medical conditions.
Your work will directly empower nursing employees to meet the unique needs of those served, making a lasting impact on both staff and individuals in care. This is your opportunity to lead with knowledge, compassion, and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
+ **Training and Education Program Development** Develops, reviews, and implements training to ensure nursing employees are competent and proficient in meeting the needs of individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and chronic medical problems.
+ **Orientation Coordination** Plans and coordinates individualized orientation for nursing and direct care employees, and participates in facility-wide employee orientation.
+ **Clinical Competency Process** Develops a process to ensure clinical competency for all nursing employees, assessing and documenting competencies during orientation, new procedures, and annually.
+ **Performance Improvement and Monitoring** Participates in the performance improvement program by monitoring employee education and care aspects as required by the department.
+ **Collaboration and Compliance** Collaborates with the nursing management team to comply with Joint Commission (TJC), state, federal, and local policies, while staying informed about trends and developments in the field.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
+ Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Experience:
+ Required: Three (3) years of nursing experience.
+ Nurse Educator experience strongly preferred.
Licenses:
+ Required: Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment or possess a multi-state compact license recognized by the State of employment to practice professional nursing.
