The Data Science Product Manager is responsible for shaping, prioritizing, and delivering AI (including Generative AI and Machine Learning) as well as advanced analytic solutions that drive business impact. This role partners with data scientists, engineers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the right problems are being solved with appropriate, ethical, and scalable solutions. This role requires strong data fluency, an understanding of the AI lifecycle, and a strong product mindset to deliver solutions that are not only scientifically sound but also valuable, viable, and usable. They demonstrate a strong understanding of how product disciplines collaborate to accomplish outcomes.
+ Product Strategy:
+ Defines and manages product strategy for AI solutions, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Data and AI strategies
+ Integrates business, customer, user, and partner insights to execute on high-impact opportunities for applying data science in partnership with analytics and business teams
+ Ensures relationships and dependencies with other products and teams are clearly understood; and works to integrate strategies through shared objectives
+ Responsible for executing on the strategy as part of a product team(s)
+ Product Discovery:
+ Accountable for understanding and defining key business outcomes and requirements for their product
+ Partners with Data Science team to assess the value of experiments, collaborates to draw out insights, and shares learnings with key partners and stakeholders. Based on learnings, determines which work should be prioritized into the product
+ Establishes and continuously improves a parallel discovery and delivery model that accommodates the iterative nature of AI experimentation and model validation.
+ Partners with data science teams to frame business problems for teams to solve
+ Facilitates prioritization of use cases based on feasibility, business value, and ethical considerations
+ Ensures the availability and accessibility of training data, labeling, and features in collaboration with data engineering and analytics partners
+ Product Delivery:
+ Accountable for success of product delivery in collaboration with technology and non-technology partners. In partnership with other members of a team, works to remove impediments that the team may face in the pursuit of value creation
+ Defines and manages product backlogs, roadmaps, and releases for AI products.
+ Works closely with Data Science teamto move models from experimentation to production
+ Ensures product teams are grounded in customer, user, and stakeholder context to inform model development, evaluation, and deployment
+ May play the role of product owner for product teams, collaborating on story creation and refinement, definition, acceptance criteria, prioritization, and acceptance of work as done
+ Responsible for successful delivery of measurable, goal-aligned value
+ Communicates product releases to stakeholders & partners
+ Product Assessment:
+ Ensures every goal-aligned unit of value created by the team(s) is measurable and shows progress towards objectives (cost savings, revenue impact, decision efficiency)
+ Accountable for ensuring product team(s) utilizes data to gauge performance and inform strategic revision and discovery
+ Responsible and accountable for meeting product outcomes and, if necessary, making enhancements to strategy, product, etc. to meet them
+ Partners with data science teams to monitor drift, fairness, and performance post-deployment
+ Ensure opportunities identifiedfrom model health assessments are captured and prioritized for discovery
+ Stakeholder Management and Communication:
+ Communicates key information (strategy, priorities, plans, experiments, results, etc.) regarding the product(s) with stakeholders
+ Communicates effectively across a broader product portfolio, contributing to alignment and shared outcomes across data and analytics products
+ Translates complex ML concepts into business-relevant language for stakeholders
+ Manages expectations and change readiness related to predictive and AI-driven systems
+ Coordinates across teams to integrate ML products into business workflows or customer-facing applications
+ Product Leadership
+ Coaches other product managers on best practices for managing data science and analytics products
+ Contributes to the advancement of ML product management practices within the organization
Who You Are
+ 4+ years of business, technology, or product management experience; or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
+ Demonstrated experience managing one or more products in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
+ Strong familiarity with data science or machine learning disciplines and teams.
+ Understanding of the AI lifecycle (problem formulation, data sourcing, modeling, evaluation, deployment, monitoring)
+ Foundational knowledge ofcommon data science tooling and technologies
+ Ability to translate data science concepts into business outcomes and stakeholder narratives.
+ Demonstrated strategic thinking, collaboration, and decision-making in a product environment
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workloads and competing priorities.
+ Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
+ Familiarity with responsible AI principles, including fairness, explainability, and bias mitigation.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$106400 - $167000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role is located in our corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA. This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), in our Des Moines office.
