This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
_This position is responsible for ensuring MnDOT’s digital content, applications, and technologies are accessible to all, including people with disabilities, in compliance with state and federal-mandated accessibility standards. The Digital Accessibility Specialist provides expert guidance, testing, and support to MnDOT staff to embed accessibility best practices throughout the digital lifecycle and into the MnDOT culture. With limited supervision, this position identifies accessibility barriers and partners with stakeholders across the agency and externally to advance MnDOT’s digital inclusion goals._
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of professional experience in the areas noted below:
NOTE: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, Pre-law, Law, or related degree substitutes for one year of professional experience.
+ **Experience in the design and development of accessible documents using Microsoft 365 software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Power Platform, etc.).**
+ **Experience with applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations (especially, Sections 504 and 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Minnesota Accessibility and Usability of Information Technology Standard, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines [WCAG] 2.1).**
