    We are seeking a **Nurse Supervisor for our** **Boise/Nampa/Ontario Wound and Podiatry** **!**

     

    As a Nursing Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of a single/multiple primary care and/or specialty sites of ten or more physicians and mid-levels, focusing on physician relationships, staff relationships, and customer service. Coordinates the day-to-day back office operations as needed. Will be knowledgeable with Joint Commission, OSHA, CLIA and State radiological safety standards as well as any other local, state or federal mandates. Focus includes customer service, physician and staff relationship and financial management. Provides leadership and nursing oversight for back office staff.

    General Requirements:

    + Minimum of two years of nursing experience required, preferably in a physician office setting.

    + Management experience preferred.

    License/Certification:

    + Candidate must have an RN license in Idaho or Oregon and must provide licensure in their secondary state within six months of hire

    + American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    + Provides nursing care to patients under his/her scope of nursing practice.

    + Assists physician with examinations and treatments.

    + Administers medications safely under their defined scope of practice.

    + Assists in education to patients, family members and staff.

    + Aids in identifying methods of improving patient care.

    + Assists in emergency situations under the direction of a provider and leads emergency in the absence of a provider.

    + Maintains a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing asepsis techniques and all other federal mandates (e.g., OSHA, TJC).

    + Pursues educational opportunities for self and staff.

    + Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the clinic/network.

    + Assists in instructing policies and procedures with clinical functions.

    + Coordinates and schedule all back-office staff. Accepts and manages staff call-ins.

    + Acts as liaison between support staff, physician and clinic managers/administrators.

    + Manages clinic staff:

    + Responsible for recruiting, hiring, orienting, supervising, coaching, disciplining, engaging, developing, and evaluating performance for all clinical float staff (non-providers).

    + Conducts staff meetings and staff competency evaluation meetings on a monthly basis, attends provider meetings as necessary.

    + Maintains payroll system and runs reports as necessary.

    + Maintains adequate staffing levels to support physician productivity.

    + Assures staff competencies, performs or assigns required audits staff and clinic audits.

    + Works and functions in clinical area in the absence of sufficient staff, to include weekends and holidays in clinics with urgent cares. Patient Care is always our top priority.

    + Completes and presents annual performance evaluations.

    + Monitor and reporting of staff certifications, licensing, and competency compliance.

    + Provides oversight for all clinical practice including MA, LPN, and RN.

    + Active member of the Ambulatory Care Council and attends monthly meetings.

    + Actively participates in network process improvement projects.

    + Maintains supervision of all medical/surgical supplies, medications and vaccines.

    + Responds in a timely manner to resolve patient concerns and/or employee conflict, promoting customer service.

    + Utilization of incident reporting system and providing follow-up and documentation as needed.

    + Knowledge of TJC and OSHA as well as any other local, state or federal mandates.

    + Coordinates and implements process improvement projects.

    + Assists in assessing capital equipment needs and provide input to the operational budget yearly.

    + Explores and initiates clinic growth opportunities.

    + Budget Accountability of staff overtime, supply ordering.

    + Communicates and effectively works with departments/managers within the Saint Alphonsus Health System.

    + Assists clinics in monthly audits in preparation for Joint Commission surveys, and also in an effort to maintain regulatory compliance. Audits may include, medications, Environment of Care, Patient Medical Record, and any other audits as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

    + Customer service-oriented attitude/behavior.

    + Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.

    + Working knowledge of medical office operations.

    + Willingness to attend and participate in off-site meetings and/or seminars.

    + Proficient in computer skills. Ability to become an EHR super-user.

    + Facilitator of Quality Improvement Projects.
