Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented **Commodity Manager I-IV** based at our **Greenville, NC** location
What You Will Do:
+ One who is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of global and regional suppliers
+ Oversee sourcing of materials and components for production requirements and aftermarket parts from common suppliers.
+ Select suppliers and manage all cost control activities to maintain and improve product margins throughout a model’s lifecycle. Achieve a 0%–3% net reduction in annualized material purchase cost.
+ Manage the business relationship between HYMH and several medium to high-spend suppliers. Establish, communicate, and measure performance against HYMH’s annual expectations in quality, delivery, cost, and warranty. Implement corrective actions when necessary.
+ Lead outsourcing of currently manufactured parts to competitive low-cost country (LCC) and local suppliers in alignment with the Global Manufacturing strategy.
+ Make production material sourcing decisions for all relevant operations. Serve as a liaison between plants and suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues.
+ Implement global procurement programs including ACR (Annual Cost Review), APR (Annual Process Review), LCC sourcing, and consolidation plans to meet HYMH’s financial objectives.
+ Negotiate and maintain Master Supply Agreements (MSAs) with key suppliers.
+ Maintain technical competence to strategically evaluate engineering, manufacturing, and quality systems for each supplier.

What You Will Need (Education):
+ **Commodity Manager I** - BS/BA Degree (Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Logistics preferred). Broad Business and Commercial knowledge. 5+ years of Industry Experience, with minimum/1-year direct experience in procurement or related supply chain function.
+ **Commodity Manager II** - BS/BA Degree (Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Logistics preferred). Broad Business and Commercial knowledge. 5-7 years of Industry Experience, with minimum 3 years of direct experience in procurement or related supply chain function.
+ **Commodity Manager III** - BS/BA Degree in Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Logistics preferred. Broad Business and Commercial knowledge. 7+ years of Industry Experience, with minimum 5 years of direct experience in procurement or related supply chain function.
+ **Commodity Manager IV** - BS/BA Degree in Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Logistics preferred. Broad Business and Commercial knowledge. 7-10 years of Industry Experience, with minimum 7 years of direct experience in procurement or related supply chain function.
Skills, Experience & Abilities:
+ Cost Management (Cost Planning + Cost Control)
+ Negotiate pricing and terms aligned with HYMH’s inflation and financial goals.
+ Develop new Value Improvement Proposals (VIPs) with suppliers to reduce cost and/or improve quality.
+ Supply Base Performance (Quality, Delivery, Warranty, & Other)
+ Improve supply base performance to meet or exceed HYMH Supply Chain Strategic Framework deliverables.
+ Contribute to the development of project schedules.
+ Manage project plans and deliverables.
+ Oversee project timelines and exceptions.
+ Capability Assessment of New and Existing Suppliers (Global and Domestic)
+ Evaluate global suppliers through on-site audits and product, operation, and system assessments to ensure alignment with HYMH objectives.
+ Broad business and commercial knowledge.
+ Proficiency in business management systems such as DFT, JIT, MRPII, and TQM – Professional training and formal education.
+ Understanding of technical systems, applications, and industry standards for purchased commodities – Formal education and experience.
Additional Information:
+ Select suppliers that support HYMH’s quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
+ Create sourcing strategies that align with corporate goals.
+ Evaluate suppliers’ capabilities to meet HYMH’s standards.
+ Implement favorable multi-year pricing agreements.
+ Negotiate and approve supplier proposals, pricing, and terms.
+ Formulate and execute corrective action plans for quality, delivery, and warranty issues.
+ Resolve issues between suppliers and HYMH’s departments including plants, product development centers, accounting, and logistics.
+ Proactively re-source materials or replace suppliers when performance impacts operations.
+ Manage the tooling budget to support new product development and cost-reduction programs.
